The Department of Commerce, Gurucharan University, Silchar is one of the oldest and most prominent centres of commerce education in the Barak Valley region of Assam. Established in 1942, the department has played a significant role in shaping commerce and business education in southern Assam and has contributed substantially to the academic and professional development of generations of students.
